Assistant Technical Operations Manager

Placement: Jakarta, Banten

Requirements:

  • Ensure end-to-end technical compliance across sampling, weighing, inspection, and moisture determination for the Metals and Minerals sector.
  • Oversee field teams to ensure cargo handling, loading, and discharging operations comply with international standards (ISO, ASTM, JIS).
  • Supervise laboratory operations (in-house or subcontracted) and ensure analytical results are accurate, repeatable, and aligned with client requirements.
  • Lead the development and commissioning of new laboratory facilities, including recruitment, procurement, and ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation.
  • Oversee the performance of subcontracted laboratories, including dispatch, QA/QC alignment, result validation, and cost/timeline management.
  • Lead investigations into technical disputes and prepare supporting reports and documentation for commercial/legal resolution.
  • Implement and maintain robust QA/QC systems and drive continual improvement across technical operations.

  • Familiarity with marine operations, cargo stuffing, tallying, and loading/unloading processes.
  • Ability to accurately document field observations and prepare daily and final reports.
  • Solid understanding of safety protocols and environmental regulations.
  • Knowledge of ISO 17020, ISO 17025, and relevant ASTM or ISO standards for sampling and inspection.
  • Experience in one commodity (coal/metals/minerals) is acceptable; experience in all is preferred.

Required Work Experience:

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in field inspection or mining operations is highly desirable.
  • Experience in the metals and minerals sector is a plus.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of SMA/SMK (technical or relevant background).
