Technical Expert, Mine Hydrology

The department’s work involves:

  1. Hydrology Data Collection and Analysis: Conducting data collection and analysis for underground and surface operations.

Additional Responsibilities

Technical Expert, Underground Mining Training Specialist

Responsibilities

Technical Expert, Underground Ventilation

Responsibilities

  1. Safety and Environmental Standards: Ensure the implementation of safety and environmental standards within the work area to minimize accidents and prevent equipment damage.

  5. Ventilation Planning: Develop medium- and long-term ventilation plans, including scientific calculations for ventilation shafts, drifts, fans, doors, and other related necessities, to ensure adequate ventilation as the underground mine expands.
  6. Ventilation Modeling: Use software like Ventsim to develop and calibrate mine ventilation models, determine fan duties, and size ventilation control devices to meet airflow requirements. Regularly compare model predictions against field data for reliability.
  7. Equipment Procurement Coordination: Work with the Finance and Accounting Department’s Bidding section to provide necessary specifications and ensure efficient and effective procurement of ventilation equipment, such as fans and regulators.
  8. Capital Project Authorization: Prepare Authorization for Expenditures (AFEs) for new capital projects, including justifications, forecasting, and cost control, in compliance with PTFI standards. Follow through until final approval.
  9. Project Administration: Perform administrative tasks for capital projects, including quality control on construction work, preparing “punch lists” and commissioning documents, and generating reports for superior review.

Manager Aviation Safety, Quality and Security

Responsibilities

  1. Safety, Quality, and Security Management: Lead and manage safety, quality, and security initiatives for the aviation department to support PTFI’s vision and goals. Ensure contract aviation safety officers meet On-Time Performance goals and champion PTFI’s safety, quality, and security standards.
  2. Integration of Safety Management Systems (SMS): Enhance the integration between aviation SMS, company FRESH standards, and e-FRM, while maintaining open communication with FCX safety and aviation leadership.
  3. Aviation Performance Monitoring: Define, measure, analyze, improve, and control all aspects of PTFI aviation safety, quality, and security management, including flight operations, airworthiness, occupational health and safety (OH&S), and airport services, to improve key performance indicators.
  4. Safety Culture Advocacy: Promote and implement PTFI’s corporate safety culture within aviation. Collaborate with aviation managers to draft and ensure compliance with the Safety Management System and ISO 45001 Quality goals. Conduct safety and quality audits of vendor aviation maintenance and operations to ensure adherence to standards.
  5. Emergency Preparedness and Response: Actively lead emergency preparedness and response efforts, and participate in accident investigation teams. Review and approve daily Aviation Risk Assessments and processes, training staff to uphold the highest standards.
  6. Risk Assessment: Conduct annual safety, quality, and security risk assessments for executive leadership review.
  7. Quality Assurance in Maintenance: Work with PTFI Aviation Technical Standards Manager to maintain quality in near- and long-term maintenance goals. Oversee and audit safety-critical maintenance programs, including tool control, material control, quarantine, TBO, and regulatory documentation.
  8. Collaboration with Flight Programs: Support quality assurance and reporting for offsite FW and on-site RW and UAS programs, and lead vendor involvement in FOQA, LOSA, VOSA, and confidential reporting programs.
  9. Expertise in Regulatory Standards: Serve as a subject matter expert in regional and international regulatory standards. Lead cultural change initiatives aligned with ISO 45001 safety and other ISO standards per PTFI’s objectives.

Qualifications
